Repeat prescriptions can be requested once you are on regular treatment. Please allow 48 hours for the request to be processed and sent to your nominated Pharmacy.
How To Order Your Repeat Prescription
We only accept telephone orders from our housebound patients. If you are requesting a repeat prescription early (more than 2 weeks before it is due) tell us why so the doctor can issue it for you without delay. A prescription can be ordered in the following ways:
- By using your NHS App
- By registering for SystmOnline and using the repeat prescription ordering service
- In person: it will help us to provide a better service if you return the right half of your previous prescription, ticking the boxes for the required medications. Please put in the repeat prescription box in the entrance lobby.
- By post: please return the right half of your repeat prescription, or write clearly your name and the medications needed.
Electronic prescribing
High Field Surgery now uses the Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS) and our patients have already taken advantage of the time savings it provides. If you collect repeat prescriptions you no longer visit the GP practice just to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send the prescription electronically to the place you choose, saving you time. Many patients have found that by ordering their repeat prescription online, and using EPS to have it sent direct to their pharmacy, they are saving two trips to the surgery each month. You can find more information on the EPS website.
All prescriptions are now issued electronically and sent direct to your pharmacy of choice. To change your nominated pharmacy simply talk to your pharmacy or ask at reception.
Medication reviews
The doctors at the practice regularly review the medication you are taking. They will sometimes call you in for a medication review and this may involve blood tests. It is very important that you attend these appointments, as it keeps you safe whilst taking medication.
