Appointment Reminders

Posted on:

In the coming days you will see a change in the way we remind you of your appointments at the surgery. The computer system we use to send you appointment reminders has been decommissioned by our local NHS.

You will continue to receive appointment reminders as patients find these useful, but these will be in a slightly different format. Reminders will continue to arrive by text message, unless you have given permission to use the NHS App for surgery messaging, in which case they will arrive as a notification within the App. However you will no longer be able to cancel your appointment direct from the text message.

It’s still important that you cancel appointments you don’t need (so they can be used by other patients) so you should do this online through the NHS App, or by telephoning the surgery.

You may have downloaded the NHS App during the pandemic but not used it since. The App is linked to the surgery and allows you to book and cancel appointments, order repeat medication, view your medical record, message the surgery and complete an e-consultation.

If you haven’t logged in for a while we recommend having another look.
