Practice Update – August 2021

Posted on:

Please see below for a general update regarding practice services. The whole practice team would like to thank our patients for your ongoing support and understanding as we continue to navigate the recovery and catch up from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Flu Vaccination Clinics
The practice will shortly be contacting eligible patients to book a flu vaccination appointment. Please do not contact the practice about your flu jab yet. We will provide updates online as soon as we have them, and will invite patients by text message, letter and telephone when it is your turn to be invited.

Covid Booster Vaccinations
The government has announced there will be a Covid Booster vaccination programme through Autumn and Winter. As soon as we are able, we will confirm the arrangements for providing Covid Boosters to eligible patients. At the moment we do not have this information. Please do not contact the practice to enquire about Covid Boosters. If you are eligible to have your booster at the practice, we will invite you in due course.

Covid Update
In order to keep our staff and patients safe, we continue to ask patients to wear a mask or face covering whilst attending the surgery. We continue to triage patients for Covid symptoms prior to any face to face contact. We will initially try to do this via text message questionnaire and emphasise how important it is for patients to reply to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus in our building.

Please do not attend the practice if you have Covid symptoms or are waiting for the result of a Covid test.

Despite the lifting of restrictions, the practice team continues to be affected by the pandemic and we ask that patients please be patient with our staff. When our staff, or their families, are exposed to the virus it has a direct effect on our service.

Appointments and Availability
All our available appointments can be booked Face to Face or as telephone consultations, this is the patients choice. If you have Covid symptoms or are awaiting the result of a Covid test you can still consult with a Doctor but this will be by telephone.

The surgery is experiencing particularly heavy demand for appointments at the moment. Its important that patients attend all booked appointments, and to let the surgery know if you cannot attend an appointment that has been booked in advance. At present, a high number of appointments are not being attended by patients, which is increasing the pressure on the appointment system. If you cannot attend your appointment, please inform the surgery as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to someone else.

You can cancel by phone, text message or online services .
