New Opening Hours
With effect from 3rd April 2017 our opening hours will change to:
- Monday: 7.00am to 6.00pm
- Tuesday to Friday: 8.00am to 6.00pm
The Reasons Behind The Change
The NHS has committed to ensure that everyone has access to GP services, including sufficient routine and same day appointments at evenings and weekends by 2020. High Field Surgery has already championed this, and along with neighbouring practices, has been taking part in a local scheme to trial extended opening at evenings and weekends. We want to make sure that this extended access continues for our patients.
Following the successful trial, local GP practices are amongst the first in the country to receive national funding dedicated to improving access to GP services.
This means that the local scheme, which was funded by Leeds West Clinical Commissioning Group, has been replaced by a nationally agreed NHS service. This is funded at a substantially reduced level, which will reduce the number of extra appointments available, and this means we need to change the way the service operates.
Some services will be provided at one ‘hub’ practice on behalf of a group of neighbouring practices including ourselves. By working together, we can offer a better and broader range of services for patients.
The New Service
Weekday late evening appointments will now be provided at one ‘hub’ practice on behalf of a group of neighbouring practices. The weekend service will continue to operate at a local ‘hub’ practice although the opening hours will change.
The hub location is at Ireland Wood Surgery, Iveson Approach, Ireland Wood, Leeds, LS16 6FR and it is open for High Field Surgery patients:
- Midweek appointments available: Monday to Friday from 5.00pm to 8.00pm
- Weekend appointments available: Saturday from 8.00am to 4.00pm and Sunday from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
To book appointments, please contact High Field Surgery in the usual way.
Leeds West CCG would welcome any feedback on the extending access service:
