Child Flu for 2 & 3 Year Olds

The surgery is now taking bookings for Child Flu vaccinations

If your child is 2 or 3 years old on 31st August 2017, they should have their child flu vaccination here at the surgery. Parents will receive a reminder by text message or letter in the next few days and can ring the surgery now to book an appointment.

Why should my child have the flu vaccine?

Flu can be a very unpleasant illness in children causing fever, stuffy nose, dry cough, sore throat, aching muscles and joints, and extreme tiredness. This can last several days or more.

Some children can get a very high fever, sometimes without the usual flu symptoms, and may need to go to hospital for treatment. Serious complications of flu include a painful ear infection, acute bronchitis, and pneumonia.

Most children receive a nasal spray vaccine, so no needles for our smallest patients! You can find more information here.
