Out of Hours Service (Phone 0113 2953600)
The out of hours service is managed by Leeds Primary Care Trust. This service operates between 6.00 pm and 8.00 am Monday to Friday, Weekends and Bank Holidays. It covers genuine emergencies that will not wait until the surgery is open. Your call will be taken by specially trained staff who are used to dealing with confidential medical information. They will make sure that you receive the right advice and help quickly.
During this call, these staff will either:
- pass the call to a doctor or nurse who may be able to deal with your problem over the phone
- refer you to a local Primary Care Centre (a place where doctors, nurses and other staff see people who require urgent treatment or care 'out of hours')
- call out a member of the on-call team, who would be able to carry out a home visit if there is a need
- or in an emergency send out an ambulance
The Leeds PCT has also produced a Essential Guide to Health Services* that lists alternatives to using A+E departments.
If you have complaints or suggestions about the Out of Hours service please contact the Primary Care Trust on 0113 305370.
